“I look forward to looking at volcanic activity. That’s my background, and that’s the work that led me to meet Jill, my partner, when we worked in the observatory together. Even though volcanoes are just one part of my everyday research—because I now cover many forms of hazardous events and types of remote sensing data—I still go back to what I was trained in. I always look for the most recent, coolest volcano remote sensing image. It’s also nice because I can talk to the other half about it as well because her training is also in volcanoes.”
