What is the best part of your day?
“It would be weird to me if I was just looking forward to the next evening or the next weekend. What the hell am I doing here if the day is that terrible? So I enjoy being here, especially within our research group. We have some great people. Sometimes it is more efficient to work at home, but I like the interaction of coming here. We have lively discussions over lunch or coffee break. My colleague found a proper Italian espresso machine — restaurant grade — and he restored it and cleaned it out. Now we have a proper espresso machine in our lab and that has become the center of activity and small talk. That’s pretty pleasant.”
