Gwen Holdman, and Tamara Harms will be presenting on the Fulbright Scholar.

Jennifer will be posting more information about the Arctic Fulbright Initiative event at Murie in an upcoming Cornerstorne, but I wanted to add some information to this invitation.

The Fulbright Arctic Initiative was created about 3 yr ago in collaboration with UAF, Dartmouth and of course the Dept of State Fulbright program. It is distinct from a "regular" Fulbright because it creates a cohort of scholars, all focused on Arctic issues, who work both on their own individual projects, and as working groups on larger Arctic issues.

UAF was honored with the selection of two of our own scholars to be part of this initial group, Gwen Holdmann in Arctic energy, and Tamara Harms in water balance.

Because of the success of the first Initiative, the Dept of State, UAF and Dartmouth have set up to create the second group of Scholars. Once again, Mike Sfraga from Alaska and Ross Virginia from Dartmouth will be the co-lead Scholars for the program.

At the last Provost's Council, we talked about "Round 2" and many asked if we could set up an informational meeting to explain the program, talk with Tamara and Gwen about how it worked, what was the application process, etc. The Provost;'s office graciously organized this event for everyone.

Please let your faculty who may have an interest in this program know about the event at Murie so that we may be able to once again have strong UAF faculty in round #2.
