Rites of Spring: Are You In?
The Nenana Ice Classic is a fun way to anticipate spring by guessing the time of river breakup at Nenana, Alaska. Last year’s prize money was $300,000. We didn’t win because we were four minutes off! The year before we missed by only one minute!
You can do your own thing or you can join the 2017 GIce pool which hopes to guess 250 or more different minutes, increasing everybody’s chances of winning.
Bring $5 or multiples thereof, e.g. $10, $15, $20, etc., to Flora Grabowska in the Keith B. Mather Library by March 31 to join the pool.
